About

A consultant led service that is individualised to the requirements of each patient and their caregivers.

Living with cancer is an emotional and physical strain on patients and their carers. Modern health systems often focus on guidelines, targets and pathways, losing sight of the fact that patients & carers are individuals. I strive to deliver a service that is of the highest quality and tailored to the specific needs to the patient and their caregivers.

Professional profile

I trained at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals between 1988 and 1994, obtaining a First Class Honours Intercalated BSc in Experimental Pathology as well as Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery.

After qualifying as a doctor, I undertook junior medical training at The London Chest Hospital, Hammersmith Hospital, University College London, Guy’s Hospital and The Royal Marsden. I obtained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of London in 1997.

Upon completing junior medical training as a I was awarded a Clinical Research Fellowship by The Imperial Cancer Research Fund and undertook a period of research at The Hammersmith Hospital looking at transcriptional regulation and its utility in developing a cancer specific gene therapy virus. My work led to the award of a PhD.

Having completed research, I obtained a position as a Specialist Registrar at The Royal Marsden Hospital. The next 4 years was spent training to become a Medical Oncologist during which time I was lucky to train under  some of the most respected oncologists in the UK and also to work with an amazing group of colleagues all of whom are now consultants across the UK.

In 2006 I was appointed as a Consultant Medical Oncologist at the Kent Oncology Centre where I remain. I work with over 25 oncologists, providing cancer services to patients across the region. We provide a consultant led and consultant delivered service that is fundamentally designed to make the latest therapies available locally. As a result our patients are usually able to receive treatments at their nearest hospital.
